In order to access features on Devlob, an account is needed.
When you create (or update) your account, we store the data you provide, such as your email, password, and username.
- Profile data
Profile data is again part of the account creation (or update), but includes more personalized information.
Some of that data includes name, gender, date of birth, etc.
- Shared content
Devlob has a lot of features, one of them is the social network and social interaction in forums, blog, etc.
We store all that information, your timeline posts, comments, likes, etc.
Technical data (not all the data we collect is publicly viewable)
- System data
Information about the device you use, IP address, browser, etc.
- Usage data
This is mostly for statistics. This is necessary for us to provide you with better quality.
Some of that data includes blog posts viewed, profiles viewed, etc..
- Geo data
This is an approximate, we DON'T store your exact location. Geo data includes, country, city, etc.

- How do we collect data?
Cookies by Devlob are used only for authentication and security. However, we use third party services such as Google Analytics and Hotjar. We don't have control over 3rd parties and what they use to track your activities.
Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

As explained above, we store data you enter on Devlob and we store technical data like your device and location.
- What we do with your data?
We use your data to provide better services, secure your account and data, analyze the use of our services, serve personalized ads, etc.
The data we collect helps us to find what works best for you and the platform.
An example is gelocation. Everytime you login on Devlob, we save your device and geolocation information.
Doing that, it helps us to identify the user that authenticated to your profile. Suppose you live in Canada and somebody in a different country logs-in to your account, we can let you know for that unknown location that you never authenticated before!
Use of services and personalized ads
A big amount of money is spend for marketing and advertising. In order to reduce our cost we use the collected data to improve our services and better target new users.

- Who we share your data with?
Some of your data is publicly viewable, like your profile. However, you have the option to change the privacy of your timeline posts to private and only Devlob users that follow you, can view your private timeline posts.
Furthermore we share certain data about you with third-party services to provide you with better services. An example is your email address that is shared with SparkPost to send emails.
We may also share your data as needed for security, legal compliance, or as part of a corporate restructuring. Lastly, we can share data in other ways if it is aggregated or de-identified or if we get your consent.
- Transfer of data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside Albania and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Albania and process it there.

- Concerning children
Devlob is a platform for software developers and software engineers. Programming is pure and can be practiced by children. Devlob encourages children to use Devlob in order to expose themselves to the programming world.
However, we have no control over what your child might find on Devlob. Programming can be used for unethical activities as well and your child might earn some of that knowledge on Devlob.
To make sure your child visits only the good parts of Devlob (we take actions against unethical posts, etc.) you are strongly advised to be next to your child while your child browses Devlob.
